Welcome to DogeDharma.

This is Resting Without Earning It. Ten minutes of rest, with nothing to prove.

Please find a position that feels comfortable for you.

You can sit on a chair, or on a cushion. Lying down is lovely too.

If you're sitting, you may let your feet rest gently on the floor.

Let your hands rest softly, in your lap or by your sides, wherever they feel easy.

You might close your eyes, or simply let your gaze rest low.

Gently breathe in.

And breathe out, a little slower, a little longer.

Once more. Breathe in.

And a long, easy breath out.

Notice the part of you that is always busy. Planning. Checking. Reaching for the next thing.

For now, nothing needs your attention.

Many of us learned that rest comes only after the work is done. But the list is never really done.

So let this rest be a gift, not a reward.

Let your shoulders soften a little.

Let your jaw soften.

Let your breath find its own easy pace.

With each breath out, set down one more thing you've been carrying.

Place a hand on your chest, if you like.

Say to yourself, quietly:

I don't have to earn this rest.

I am worthy, just as I am.

It's safe to slow down.

Now some quiet. Just you, and your breath. I'll come back softly.

I'm here again.

Take a fuller breath in.

And let it go.

Feel whatever is holding you, and the room around you.

You rested. Nothing was lost.

One small kind thing, for you: today, take one short pause without a reason.

When you're ready, open your eyes, if they were closed.

Do Only Good Everyday.

Ten minutes of rest with nothing to prove, for anyone who feels they must keep achieving first.
