Welcome to DogeDharma.

This is When the Little One Melts Down. Three minutes, for you, right in the middle of it.

First, make sure your little one is safe. Keep your eyes open, and stay close.

Let your feet feel the floor.

Breathe in slowly.

And let it out, long.

Once more. In.

And out.

Big feelings can be loud in a small body.

You don't have to make it stop right now. Just be the steady one, as best you can.

Let your jaw soften. Let your shoulders drop.

Breathe in: I can stay steady.

Breathe out: this wave will pass.

A short quiet now. Eyes open, just breathing. I'll come back softly.

One more full breath.

You're doing a hard thing, with love.

One small kind thing, for you both: when it's over, a soft word for them, and a sip of water for you.

Do only good, every day.

A three-minute breath for you, eyes open, right in the middle of a toddler meltdown.
